When can you use sunscreen after microneedling?

Your clinic always decides the exact timing, but skin is usually too open for products, sunscreen included, for the first day or two. Until then, shade and covering up are what protect you. Once your clinic gives the go-ahead, a light, gentle sunscreen becomes one of the most important habits for protecting your results.

What makes Skinvisibles® different?

Swiss UV specialists. That's the whole company.

Skinvisibles is a privately held Swiss company based in Zurich, built by a team who have spent their working lives in UV protection and skincare. We are not a skincare line that adds sunscreen – sun protection is all we make.

The mission we set for ourselves is deliberately narrow: invisible UV protection for visible results. Visible results mean healthy, radiant, hydrated skin – which does two things at once, high protection and true hydration. Each formula is designed to do both.

There's a reason SENSE appears in every product name. Daily SPF is all about how it feels: ultra-light, fast-absorbing, absolutely no stickiness. A sunscreen you don't like to wear is one you skip, and one you skip protects nothing.

Our formulas are made in Switzerland, Japan and the EU with independent specialist laboratories, and are sold through beauty institutes and skin clinics that can explain them properly. In Norway it is Cosmenor.

Why the micro-channels make skin vulnerable

Open channels let more through

Microneedling creates thousands of microscopic channels that normally close up within the first 24 hours. Until they've closed, substances and radiation can reach deeper into the skin than usual. That's why clinics are strict about what's applied during this window, and why a broad-spectrum filter matters as soon as skin is ready for it. During this window, sunscreen isn't the only thing that needs extra thought — other skincare products should also wait until your clinic confirms the channels have closed.

Science, simply put

Why Daily SPF Is the Smartest Skincare Option

Up to 80% of visible skin aging comes from UV exposure – and it happens even on cloudy Norwegian days.

How long to wait, what to apply and why the first days matter. Always follow the aftercare from your clinic.

Questions about sunscreen after microneedling

How long do I need to wait before using sunscreen after microneedling?

+

Most clinics ask you to wait at least 24 hours, often longer depending on the needle depth used. Your clinic sets the exact timeframe for your treatment.

Why is it extra important to follow clinic instructions specifically after microneedling?

+

Because skin literally has microscopic openings for a period afterward, the wrong product can penetrate further than usual. Always follow the aftercare you were given.

Which sunscreen suits skin best after microneedling?

+

A light, non-comedogenic, broad-spectrum SPF 50 that doesn't need rubbing in. UV Serum is built for exactly this kind of delicate, freshly treated skin.

Can I use tinted sunscreen after microneedling?

+

Yes, once your clinic has cleared you for skincare products again. Choose a light, non-comedogenic formula and avoid rubbing it in.

How long should I protect my skin extra carefully after treatment?

+

Clinics often recommend reinforced sun protection for a couple of weeks, since freshly treated skin can react more strongly to sunlight during this period.
