When can you use sunscreen after a chemical peel?
Your clinic always decides the exact timing, but most superficial peels call for a few days' pause before skin can tolerate sunscreen again. Until then, shade and covering up are what protect you. Once your clinic gives the go-ahead, a light, gentle sunscreen becomes one of the most important habits for protecting your results.
What makes Skinvisibles® different?
Swiss UV specialists. That's the whole company.
Skinvisibles is a privately held Swiss company based in Zurich, built by a team who have spent their working lives in UV protection and skincare. We are not a skincare line that adds sunscreen – sun protection is all we make.
The mission we set for ourselves is deliberately narrow: invisible UV protection for visible results. Visible results mean healthy, radiant, hydrated skin – which does two things at once, high protection and true hydration. Each formula is designed to do both.
There's a reason SENSE appears in every product name. Daily SPF is all about how it feels: ultra-light, fast-absorbing, absolutely no stickiness. A sunscreen you don't like to wear is one you skip, and one you skip protects nothing.
Our formulas are made in Switzerland, Japan and the EU with independent specialist laboratories, and are sold through beauty institutes and skin clinics that can explain them properly. In Norway it is Cosmenor.

Why fresh skin needs more protection
Fresh skin has less built-in defense
A chemical peel removes layers of skin that normally help dampen sunlight before it reaches deeper layers. Without that layer, more UV radiation reaches the new skin forming underneath. A broad-spectrum filter takes over that job at the surface, reducing how much radiation gets through while your skin rebuilds itself. This effect is most pronounced in the weeks right after treatment, and gradually fades as new skin matures and rebuilds its own protective layer. Until then, a sunscreen that needs no rubbing or pressing is the safer option.

Science, simply put
Why Daily SPF Is the Smartest Skincare Option
Up to 80% of visible skin aging comes from UV exposure – and it happens even on cloudy Norwegian days.

Questions about sunscreen after a chemical peel
Can I use sunscreen the same day as my peel?
+
It depends on how deep the peel was, and your clinic always decides the timing. Superficial peels can sometimes allow sunscreen sooner than deeper treatments. Always follow the aftercare instructions you were given.
Which sunscreen is best after a chemical peel?
+
Look for broad-spectrum SPF 50, a light texture that doesn't need rubbing in, and a non-comedogenic formula. UV Serum is built for exactly this kind of delicate, freshly treated skin.
Why does skin flake after a peel, and does it affect sun protection?
+
Flaking is a natural part of the outer skin layers renewing themselves. During this period skin is more vulnerable to sunlight, so extra caution and covering up is recommended until your clinic clears you for sunscreen.
Can I use tinted sunscreen after a peel?
+
Yes, once your clinic has cleared you for skincare products again. Choose a light, non-comedogenic formula and avoid rubbing it in.
How long should I protect my skin extra carefully after a peel?
+
Clinics often recommend reinforced sun protection for several weeks, since new skin can react more strongly to sunlight during this period. Your clinic will give you a timeframe suited to your treatment.
